These pieces are all 18″X24″ and were painted with ink on watercolor paper. The marks are inspired by calligraphic fonts – specifically italics and Hebrew. Developing your calligraphy technique requires writing and rewriting the same letter over and over so that it forms a string. This string is called a necklace, and teaches you not only how to perfect the curves and shapes of the letterforms, but the spacing between each letter.
